| WARPS & ATek Aquired by Tapout Logic, LLC |
 It is with great pleasure the Land of NoR introduces the opening of the Tapout Logic, LLC (www.tapoutlogic.com) and its acquisition of WARPS & ATek. NoR’s license of WARPS will be unaffected. The WARPS’ forums will eventually migrate to their site but to ease up and coming changes they will remain here for the time being.
In addition, a revamped race/class/spells/abilities database will be released within the next 2 weeks and, yes, there will be a reroll weekend to accompany it This will address most of the known problems that cropped up with the database corruption. However, we do need your help, we need to hear from you in the WARPS sections of our forums on what needs fixing and rebalancing as well as your suggestions. Then, roughly midsummer, the NoR universe race/class/spell/abilities database will be released. So keep those suggestions and thoughts coming!

| Why The Name Remembrance? |
So a lot of people have asked me over the last year, “Why ‘Remembrance?’” for the name of the first sim of what would become NoR. It is a question I mostly avoid because it was a personal choice and not something I was looking to share. Since it is the Second Life Day of Remembrance, and at the bequest of several around me to share it as its appropriate, I shall now.
Some of you may recall the two towers of light from back in the first build in Remembrance, well that should be a give away. In 2001, I watched the Twin Towers fall from across the water. In fact, I was in New York City when the first plane hit. Did I know people in the buildings that never made it out? Yes. However, that was not really the personal connection I made to 9/11.
When the towers fell there was no doubt of anyone watching that a lot of people just died. There is something different in seeing with your own eyes rather then on television an event that I cannot really explain. Anyway, my mind locked on what it must have been like to be either in the plane or trapped in the towers unable to do anything. I could not shake it. It haunted me for days. I watched DVDs for like a week to avoid the clips of the event as my mind kept cycling through what it must have been like. So, the event touched me profoundly.
I also realized pretty early on that this event would mark an ending of one chapter and the beginning of another in the United States and even the world history. A change I dreaded in its implications and outcome but this is not something I care to share.
I cannot recall the exact time I purchased the sim but it wasn’t long after the 9/11 anniversary. It was also the first year I noted the Remembrance ceremonies seemed to die off. So why Remembrance?
A Remembrance of those that died in a horrifying way.
A Remembrance of the day the world embarked on a new path.
A Remembrance of the way we were.

| GO GREEN! Saint Patrick's Day Parade! |
 - 17.3.Saint Patrick's Day Parade March 17th at 2 & 6 pm SL time.
In the tradition of old Saint Pat's parade will be in Remembrance and (hopefully) starting at 2 & 6pm SL time. Access to Rem will be restricted to the floats and the people on them. The route will go around the road on the border of Repentance, Reliance, and Reverance. Take plenty of pictures and submit them to show on our website!

The IC details are still secret, but OOC, I wanted to take a moment and forewarn you that we’re going to disable gun damage in WARPS (NoR Wide) for this RP (from 6pmSLT Friday March 7th until 3pm Sunday March 9th). During that 46 hour period (we get an extra hour because of the end of daylight savings, WOOT!). There will be notices to help lead you around in the main RP, and you’re encouraged to enjoy your own side RPs around the disabling of all guns.
For those of you who loathe the idea of your guns being nerfed, it’s only for 46 hours, and this will be a fun weekend that we’ll all be talking about for a long time to come.

After presenting our evidence and submitting the required counter-notification the Lindens reviewed our position and found the claims against us inactionable. The notice went out four days after the DMCA claim was filed. The process, however, as it ran through the Lindens, has specific legal requirements and timeframes all of which have been met. In addition, the DMCA imposes liability for wrongful claims against another which we are debating on pursuing. As of this notice, the WARPS vendors have been returned to the Remembrance telemall in our new information kiosk.
We continue to maintain our policy of keeping the situation a matter for our attorneys and rely on what players can observe *for themselves* in coming to their own conclusions, That said we have some good news:
- Even as our detractors don't release new versions of their system and slip self imposed release deadlines for their 'grand vision', WARPS has already gone through some revolutionary changes since first release. You've all seen previews of cool new features to come and expect more fun with WARPS within the next 45 days or so.
- NoR remains *free* for all players and while we do happily accept donations via tip jars, these funds are used as a an adjunct to staff and sponsor-provided funds for contest prizes and the purchase of products to use in NoR builds.
- We have grown and continue to do so. We seek to create places where people can play and enjoy and to build genuine communities. Look for cool new things in the pipeline that will allow those so inclined to completely shape their own RP environments.
- The WARPS API is nearing completion and we look forward to the creativity of all those developers champing at the bit to build products and features specific for use in WARPS. We love the enthusiasm!
- Several evolutions in the total NoR experience will be getting implemented over time starting with a new rule release later today with many clarifications and the return of a minimum standard of admin role play enforcement.
We would like to thank you for your patience and faith in us regarding this matter. As time and events progress more information will come to light vindicating our position and your faith in us.

NoRians have come together once again to support one-another in times of need, we have stretched our hand to the other side of the screen this time! One of our own has been ill, and as a token of our appreciation, dedication and friendship we as NoRians sent flowers to her bedside at the hospital. I have not heard anything in return yet, but our hopes and thoughts go out to her and that she will return to us soon as a healthy NoRian.
We understand this isn't for everyone and respect that many people come here to play and enjoy their privacy. I will continue to do this when given consent along with irl information, either at a hospital or funeral home. I need exact information to the RL name and destination (Please ensure you check with the party before you disclose this information to me). If you are interested in donating to the flowers for NoRians fund, please send your donation to Myheartis Baroque. This is my alt and all L$ ( Linden Dollars) in her possession are strictly for the Flower Fund.

It has come to my the Lindens have gotten involved in the CCS & WARPS squabble. In essence we have been asked to remove a couple specific WARPS vendors as a result of Suz filing a complaint with them. The Lindens have made no request for warps to be removed/turned off and even acknowledge this is "alleged."
("The notification identified the following allegedly infringing work(s)" This is straight from the notice & only identifies certain vendors not all and makes no request that the combat system itself be shut down).
This is done under an action strictly within Linden Labs and has no real world value. The process of which is virtually automatic, done with little to no evidence to back up the claim and more importantly with no input of evidence from our side. Well no input of evidence that is until we post a linden lab counter-notification, which we already have, and this trigger a closer review & which will resolve the matter within 10 business days. Ultimately, all this does is keep the Lindens safe from lawsuits in true copyright violations (Think Napster) and then puts it on the parties to resolve it before the courts on their own. Interestingly enough, the courts is where we have been focusing our efforts all this time, kind of like we knew. Go figure
This is little more then part of the pattern of harassment that has been levied against us which ultimately is making our real world case stronger. I stated my opinion on this months ago and am confident in our position. In any event, WARPS has not been shut down as you all can tell by playing and as for certain vendors being temporarily removed gives us an opportunity to use a different method of distribution we were planning on anyway. In the meantime, WARPS will remain active and we will continue to pursue our real world action.

Update/Conclusion:
Thanks everyone for a fun and successful re-roll event. We had 2375 re-rolls in 36hrs! Saturday was a bit of a bummer because the group chats weren't working, but we made due! Enjoy your fresh and shiny new character sheet!

For 36 hours only, Re-Roll until your heart is content!
Starting this Saturday February 9th at 8am until Sunday February 10th at 8pm, the system will allow users to re-roll without ADMIN intervention and without any cost (XP loss) to the players.
Remember a few notes and guidelines:
- Stay calm, have fun, and be mature and patient if you have a concern you want to communicate in LON chat.
- Use chatterbugs if you want to chatter and ask others questions about behavior you're seeing if you're not sure if it's expected
We'll be around and listening to your questions and concerns, and we'll be using the re-roll time to give you an opportunity to experiment with some new skills and effects.
We'll sprinkle in some comments and laughter and contests too.

 We'll be going live with the 0.0.15 WARPS on Friday February 8th at 7pm PST.
There will be a 5 minute window from 6:55 to 7:00 where the Database for 14 will need to be synchronized over to the 15 structure.
We'll put a link here for release notes before we go live, so you'll have a chance to read about the changes. There are a few major changes you'll want to make note of, and a lot of little fixes based on your /9 report issues, and many other fixes just by hanging out close to the testers, and killing little annoyances as they encounter them.
Thanks to all the fellow NOR friends and fellow players who've made this a worthwhile endeavor for me to spend my evenings and weekends on.
