| Dagger | Capture the Dagger |
| Natural Revive | A 5 minute revive built into the system to signify the end of the "defeated" status, and the slow return to health. |
| NoR | Nation of Remembrance |
| NoRget | A term of endearment coined by the CC staff for a person that has newly arrived in NoR. |

| Buff | Temporarily Increase the Stats of a Target |
| Corpse Camping | If a player is revived by an enemy just to be defeated again with NO reason to do so, THIS is corpse camping. |
| cross RPing | The act of taking IC knowledge OOC or OOC knowledge IC. |
| DoT | Damage over Time |
| DPS | Damage Per Second |
| EXP | Experience (Also known as XP) |
| FPS | First-Person Shooter |
| Gank | When a much higher level person kills a low level person |
| godmod | Godmod (or godmodding) is when someone emotes in a way that forces the other characters action without giving them an opportunity to prevent the action |
| HoT | Heal over Time |
| HP | Hit Points |
| IC | In Character |
| KoS | Kill on Sight |
| metagaming | Using knowledge your player wouldn't have yet IC to influence their behavior or the Role Play |
| metapose | An emote that does not indicate an action someone can RP without metagaming |
| MMO | Massively Multi-Player Online (Game) |
| Nerf | The act of weakening a stat in a game in order to balance the mechanics |
| OOC | Out Of Character |
| power gaming | competitive player who works to maximize the game mechanics with disregard for the enjoyment of the RP and social interaction. |

| Pwn | Own - Victory over an opponent |

| Griefer | Someone who intentionally performs actions with the desire to disrupt or deny access to a sim, or disrupt the occupants of the sim |

| HUD | Heads Up Display |
| LL | Linden Labs |
| LSL | Linden Scripting Language |
| Mono | New Engine (VM) for Scripts |
| Mouselook | The view where your camera pans and rotates with your mouse (normally this is the view from the perspective of your avatar's eyes) |
| Sim | Simulator - in SL, a Sim is 16 acres of virtual land (256m X 256m). Each sim runs in a separate memory and processing space on a server. |
